I knew about them but I thought they were a separate species of squirrel; like grey vs red. They are probably less then 1% of the squirrel population in the hollow but every year there are a few more.

P.S: love your work!Tephyrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12801678777159893963noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4106946167791477042.post-36226111998048413002012-03-21T15:52:48.200-04:002012-03-21T15:52:48.200-04:00Yea for strathmore, we are connecting. We have red and grey ones. xoAnnettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00578152388028255426noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4106946167791477042.post-70678203262341041512012-02-13T11:49:45.651-05:002012-02-13T11:49:45.651-05:00I spotted more down the road so there are even mor...I spotted more down the road so there are even more then the three up on my mountain top. As I said; Toronto has always had Black Squirrels and maybe other cities along the Great Lakes but I'm not sure anymore.

I think it's cute your red squirrels chase them. :) Our red ones are just a tad bigger then a chipmunk so if it's the same for yours then not sure why the bigger ones are running. :)

It is interesting that we are both seeing more of them.

On another note: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/46334211/#.TzkJFLTSwts
Apparently we could be getting Purple ones soon. :DTephyrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12801678777159893963noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4106946167791477042.post-54653177534104718432012-02-12T12:00:39.624-05:002012-02-12T12:00:39.624-05:00Here in Nebraska I had seen black squirrels in onl...Here in Nebraska I had seen black squirrels in only one town in the far southeast corner, but they are now in my yard and neighborhood in Lincoln frequently. Interesting that you're seeing them on the east coast as well.Cynthia Nighhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13597481433490543177noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4106946167791477042.post-65480769500061160452012-02-11T20:47:45.324-05:002012-02-11T20:47:45.324-05:00Thank you for your kind words and I'm glad you...Thank you for your kind words and I'm glad you enjoy it.
